I believe that Sims and Lots are placed here: Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Tray And can be found in the gallery. :)4

I think you need to bring that sim into CAS and play them like one you created, if I'm understanding your question. Or do you mean you want them in the general population? I think then saving them from CAS to your Library would do the trick. HTH

why no use names like sims 3?
per example
MarÃa Nagy.sim -
Might sound like a stupid question but I have no idea how to install a sim I downloaded because they won't appear anywhere in my game.
The sim that I wanted was Jasmin Blue from Ms Blue. These are the files that were downloaded:
The files shown above should be placed in the folder called: electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Tray. -

then you added a sim, he is in your tray in sim folder. You probably want to add him to your game in progress so you will have to delete cache's I am guessing but wouldn't logically think so.

what if they're not in your gallery?
Hello @Naranaree
Check that you have ticked the 'include custom content' box that is in the advanced section of the filter area of the gallery.

I have done everything on this forum and the sim I have downloaded still hasn't shown up in my gallery. I was also hoping I could use the clothes on the sim I downloaded on another sim of mine. Is that possible?
-
edited February 2017@ChazSimmies Go find the sim in the gallery and instead of downloading them, click on the 'place in world / lot / something like that' tab instead, then you can just place her on a lot immediately and start playing normally

Hello @ChazSimmies
If you downloaded the sim from an external site, the files need to be put into the documents -electronic arts -sims 4 - tray folder.
They can't be placed in a subfolder. The files need to be placed directly into the tray folder. If the sim also has cc clothing, you will need to have downloaded cc clothing package files also. These cc package files are placed into the mods folder.
Go to game options and check that the ' enable custom content and mods' button is ticked, which is found in :
Options | Other | Enable Custom Content and Mods. If it isn't ticked, do that. Also check that the script mods allowed button is ticked as well. Exit the game. Then go back into the game again and any cc that you have will appear. Cc clothing will then appear in cas and you can use it for other sims.
Check that you have ticked the 'include custom content' box that is in the advanced section of the filter area of the gallery.
